Happy 2025 to you, and if you celebrated any holidays over these past couple months, I hope they were awesome. Just a few updates regarding Nackback kits and the NackHabitat store!

NACKBACK UPDATES

Limited Stock

There are currently only 2 kits left in stock, both of them collectors edition. Since these come with 2 collectible items that are limited stock, I wanted to send out a quick notice before they’re gone! If you are interested in a Nackback, but don’t want the collectors edition - PLEASE do not buy the collectors just to get it before they’re gone. The “pro” kit at launch will become be returning again, and there are going to be a few tweaks. That will be coming back asap so just wait for that newsletter update! I don’t want this to be a FOMO influence ❤️ 

New Kit!

As I mentioned, at launch there were a few different kits. Now that the collectors edition is just about gone, the kit that was the pro will now just be the standard kit and will continue to be available. I’ll keep a few printed and ready to be shipped and then they’ll go back to print on demand. The new kit will have 2 new designs for the thumboney, a slightly changed design for the main bracket and landscape spacer, and upgraded screws! I haven’t decided on this one yet, but I might include an XL version of the bracket in this kit as well. I’ve had a few people with MASSIVE cameras and lenses feel like they’ve needed a slightly bigger bracket, and I’ve sent out a few for people to test.

I don’t have an exact ETA on when the new kits will be available, but I’m thinking towards the end of January. Really depends on how long this desk is going to take me…

Thumboneys

Over the past couple of months, I have been tweaking printing testing and tweaking in circles, trying to find the best size, screws, and fits for the custom Thumboneys that are included with the Nackback kit. I have a few that I am very happy with, and these are going to start being included with the newest kits, but also as an option to be sold separately. I really wanted to refine these before the kit was launched, but that would have added MONTHS and it had already been long enough. If I decide to sell these separately, I’ll announce it when the standard kits are back in stock later in January.

Almost all Thumboneys that were included with the kits were black to match the rest of the kit, but I really love the look of different colors for the thumbscrews to. So I might put up a separate listing that is JUST for the Thumboneys in case you want to try the gen2 version of them.

XL Bracket

Another prototype that has been sent out to a few testers is an XL version of the Rotalocked bracket. I had a few users with really big body camera/lens, so I played around with the idea of a larger, thicker, BEEFIER bracket. This is publicly available yet, but if you’re interested in trying this, shoot me an email to [email protected] and let me know you’re interested. I’ll just have you cover the cost of materials/shipping and will print you a prototype. I’d estimate it would be like 5-10 USD.

BETA TESTING

In the past couple months, I’ve teased a few different projects I’ve been working on, and a few people have shown lots of interest in helping with beta testing! Which for one - is amazing, and so exciting. So thank you for that. Second, those projects are just slightly on hold because of a massive desk project I’m working on right now. It’s the most custom and ambition desk project I have ever embarked on, and it’s eating up a lot of my time. Soon as this is done, I’ll get back to those projects! Here is a sneak peak at that project.
