I'M SORRY, OKAY. Thank you for your patience.

When life gives you lemons, say fuck the lemons and bail

Happy August everyone! I wanted to share a few updates on current NackHabitat projects and upcoming releases.

TLDR:

  • Huge life change: I left a 15 year career in IT to start a new job with SenpaiGaming in January 2025. 7 months later at the end of July, that position at Senpai was terminated, leaving me with a small gift: unemployment. I had to pause everything that didn’t involve generating immediate income. Officially full time content creator for Naaackers & NackHabitat now so that’s kinda cool.

  • 4 new free STL’s available for download: 100mm and 75mm VESA to 1/4-20” adapters.

  • Flooter Beta invites going out this week. If you get an email, you’re in.

    • If you weren’t chosen for the gifted beta kit, discounted beta kits will be available to purchase.

  • 2 new products incoming

With all that said, we can get into some details. Thank you for your patience with me while I smoothed out the whole life stuff.

NEW PRODUCT - VESA to 1/4”-20 Adapters

I use a lot of portable monitors ‘round these parts. I love using them as small, secondary monitors at my setups, and for other camera monitor stuff too. Some of them come with 75mm or 100mm mounting holes, which feels weird to use because those arms are always huge and bulky and heavy, but portable monitors are super thin and light. Which makes the 11” friction arms commonly used for photography perfect for this. I designed this adapter to be able to use the two together.

Flooter Beta (The floating shelf project)

I wanted to thank everyone for not only signing up for the Flooter beta, but the patience with replies afterwards. I had to put this one on the back back burner while I got the rest of life in place, and then I had to redesign a part from scratch that I wasn’t planning to.

Later this week I will be sending out emails to the people that have been chosen for the Flooter beta. If you get an email, that means you are in. If you don’t get an email, sorry ☹️ BUT, that doesn’t mean you can’t still get your hands on one…

Of course, the more beta testers the better - however I can only afford to print and ship a limited number of beta kits out. But that got me thinking, what if I made beta kits available for purchase so if someone REALLY wanted to test, they could? I asked the community if there was interest, and I didn’t see any opposition to the idea! So I’m going to give it a try! So, there will be two groups:

Closed Beta: These people were chosen after submitting a closed beta application. They only pay for shipping/cost of materials, and get access to the private discord channels for the testing period. Written feedback is required. Will receive a coupon for the store as well.

Open Beta/Early Access: The same beta kits from above will be printed and reserved to be available in the store. They will be heavily discounted from their retail price (likely 30-50% off), and you will also receive a coupon for 5-10% off your next NackHabitat purchase, which can be used when the kit fully releases. Feedback is not required, and you can submit your feedback via online form whenever you want.

COMING SOON - 2 New Products (& betas)

Super excited to announce that I’ve working on two more products! The first one has been in development for a few months now, and the other is a recent development.

#1 - Elgato Stream Deck Pedal Lift-n-Grip

Ever felt like the Elgato stream deck pedal just wasn’t the right pedal? Ever wish you could raise it up just a ton or add some grips so it didn’t slide on the carpet so much? NOW YOU CAN. What started as a commission for streaming MosesFrnchToast turned into a full blown kit. This raises the rear of the pedal about 1.5” inches, and also provides some additional grips for people on carpet. Moses has been using it for a while now and here is what he had to say:

There will also be a beta testing program for this as well, so if you are interested in testing this out and providing feedback, keep your eyes peeled for that in a little while!

#2 - Elgato Prompter Modular VESA Adapter

Another project that was started because of someone asking it to be wielded into existence! This is a prototype for mounting your Elgato Prompter to a VESA monitor arm. There are many arms out there that are pneumatic gas spring arms that allow you to move the arm around without having to loosen and tighten, and having that kind of arm for the Elgato Prompter is AWESOME. I had already been doing this for years but in a janky, DIY way. Now, everyone can do it. But sexier.

Elgato makes different mounts for something like this, but the “pro” arm is VERY expensive and you can get these arms for 30-40 bucks these days. And they’re super solid and perfect for the prompter. It’s been my go to go for years.

While developing this product, I decided to have some fun with it. Using dovetail designs, I integrated a hot-swappable system right into the bracket itself. So if you wanted to use that space below the prompter to mount a small scree, phone, microphone, WHATEVER. You can do that.

I just published a video that shows how this kit will work and the current prototype. This is another kit that I will have beta kits available for, and I’ll be sending out newsletter messages when it comes time to sign up for that.

Thanks for being here ❤️

This was the longest newsletter to date and I’m sorry about that but there was a lot of ground to cover! Just a reminder that I do have an email that is open to the public where you can ask any questions about about anything. You can send me a message and I do my absolutely best to get back to everyone that reaches out. Sometimes same day. Sometimes same month XD

Thank you for your time and I hope you have a wonderful day.
